About our “demo”

Hey guys and gals,  this is our “demo” and a quick description of the songs and who’s doin’ what…….We picked these songs to show our diversity and because they are some of the more “well-known” tunes. First, let me give “props” to the “Chop-House” studio in Bowling Green Ky where we did this recording. They were a new studio and wanted to try out their equipment and skills so we kinda helped each other out. Ryan Adkins was the engineer/owner, Ryan completed training in Nashville Tennesee before opening. Since this recording, the “Chop-House” has become one of the fastest growing and well known studios in the area!

The first song is “Brown eyed girl,” (Van Morrison). Jackie (Jacman) Fox is singing lead vocal on this and the background voice is Kent Busey (drummer). Kent is a life-long musician that played mostly in church but has rock and country influences. Great guy, kind of a nut but that’s why we like him! Gary Cockriel is doin’ that familiar base-line, he works at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green.  Gary is a relative new musician with a passion to play. Gary handles two jobs right now also running sound (hey…he has two hands after all!!)

The second song is “No matter what” (Badfinger).  The lead guitar on that song is Gordon Johnson, never been in a band until us! He works at Western and is a Harvard graduate! He just picked up a “slide” and did that lead in about two takes.

The third song is “Main street” (Bob Seger) a personal favorite for Jackie who is also doing the lead guitar on that one. Kent and Jackie do the vocals together, Jackie is singing the verse while Kent handles the bridge and chorus. Most people don’t know when one stops and the other takes over………We think that’s a compliment, we’re not sure.

Mony Mony (Tommy James and the Shondells) is the forth, that’s Jack on organ and lead vocal, again with Kent in the back-ground. The fifth song is “Help me make it through the night” (Sammi Smith/Tammy Wynette) Kent’s doing solo vocal, that’s Jack on piano. Kent wanted to do this song for his mother…..seriously! (we told you he was a nut).

The last song is “Why lady why” (Alabama).  Jackie is singing here and doing lead guitar. It was the last recording of the day, we weren’t going to put that one in there but it just came up in conversation and before we packed up we just went in and did it in two takes!

Anyway, this is the type music we play. This is a “demo” we send out to bar owners and to people looking to hire a band. It’s not a polished CD that we’d ever try to sell because it’s so rough, a normal recording time for a CD would take anywhere from three weeks to a year and we did this in 8 hours (including set-up time!) so that kinda explains some of the “rough-ness.”

I hope you enjoy, watch our web-site for gigs, show dates and general up-dates. We modify and add to our song list constantly so if you don’t see or hear “your song” just hang around, chances are we’ll get to it!

Take care and we’ll see ya soon!
